The owners were a couple of the most wonderful people on earth. Their kids were almost all grown so it was time to move out of the family home to a spectacular new neighborhood with grand views of the entire Cascades – from Mount Rainer all the way to Mount Baker – as well as a great view of Lake Washington.
They wanted ‘practical’, with a modest flair for architecture: Brazilian cherry, quartz countertops, lots of glass for views from all levels. And the coolest piece is the hidden underground garage off the alley that has its own staircase all the way into the home. The beautiful gardens around the back lawn are built on top of the sunken garage.
